Lawrence Wilkerson hit the GOP again
Lawrence Wilkerson continues to disparage his party for their behavior justifiably. He did not mince words as he rejoiced over a self-destructing GOP.
Wilkerson started the interview stating that he was one who believes that Donald Trump is smarter than many people think. He said that Trump is out to destroy the Republican Party.
Wilkerson stated that Trump pulled back the curtain and showed the real Republican Party.
“He is showing the Republican Party for what it is,” Wilkerson said. “He is showing that twenty to thirty percent of its electorate that is certifiable in any sociologist terms.” Ouch. He went there.
Wilkerson’s answer to Chris Hayes last question was prescient. Hayes asked Wilkerson how terrified he was of Trump being elected given his complete lacking of curiosity and knowledge on the issues.
“One side of me is stunned as you suggest,” Wilkerson replied. “The other side of me is the rational, pragmatic actor who says, ‘Hey, I know what’s happening here, What’s happening is the Republican Party is self-destructing before our eyes. That could be a healthy development.”
Wilkerson has been very critical of what the Republican Party has become over the years.
