Joe Scarborough’s Epiphany, jumping off a sinking Trump ship?

Joe Scarborough’s lament?

Joe Scarborough

Any idea why Joe Scarborough changed his tune. No one wants to be adrift on a sinking ship. Now he is trying to atone for his misdeeds.

Joe Scarborough has spent the better part of the 2016 election cycle legitimizing Donald Trump. When Scarborough interviewed Trump, Trump frequently got away with making bizarre claims and spouting outrightlies (to say nothing of what they discussed when cameras were off). Scarborough excused Trump’s awful treatment of women.

Scarborough defended Trumpfor skipping a Fox News debate. Scarborough excused what he called Trump’s “mistakes,” saying that Trump was “exhausted.” Scarborough has repeatedlypraised Trump’s speeches in recent months as effective pivots to the general election. Scarborough even somehow compared Trump to Prince at one point. Scarborough even briefly entertained being Trump’s running mate. Most notably of all, Scarborough has lectured repeatedly on the importance of listening to Trump, even bragging that no one else was taking Trump as seriously as his own show was.

And now suddenly Scarborough has had an epiphany. He is demanding that Republican leaders dump Trump from the ticket even though there is no viable way to do that. Better late than never, but the real damage or normalizing Trump is done. [Source: Media Matters]
