Al Roker did not let Billy Bush, a Ryan Lochte apologist, spin the truth
Al Roker did something on national TV rarely done. He did not allow his colleague to spin Ryan Lochte’s lie as if it were just an embellishment.
Many complained about the whitewashing by many about the lying and less than stellar behavior of these Olympic swimmers/medalists. Gabby Douglas was raked over the coals for not holding her hands up to her heart during the national anthem, something that isn’t at all wrong. Some called 32-year-old Lochte a kid that was simply misbehaving.
Billy Bush was the first to get an interview with Ryan Lochte. He recently tried to create excuse Ryan Lochte by claiming he was merely embellishing the story. Al Roker did not allow him to get away with it. Roker hammered him until he was forced to acquiesce to the reality. Lochte lied.
Some continue with this behavior because America has a tendency to look the other way when some commit crimes. The book is thrown at others. The media is now in the Ryan Lochte rehabilitation process. Hopefully, more media personalities lie Al Roker speak up. Equity in reporting is a must.
