Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson on Morning Joe, ‘What is Aleppo?’ (VIDEO)

September 8, 2016 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Gary Johnson looks like he was on the joint when asked an important question of our time.

Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson: ‘What is Aleppo?’

Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson had no idea that Aleppo is the epicenter of the Syrian refugee crisis; Trump’s alternative just as clueless. It all happened on Morning Joe.

One of the hosts asked a simple question.

“What would you do if you are elected,” asked Mike Barnicle. “About Aleppo.”

Gary Johnson with a deer-looking-at-headlights look asked, “And what is Aleppo?”

A shocked Barnicle thought he was trying to be funny. “You are kidding?” he asked.

Johnson replied that he wasn’t kidding.

Mike Barnicle proceeded to explain. “Aleppo is in Syria,” Barnicle said. “It is the epicenter of the refugee crisis.”

“Okay, got it,” Johnson replied. “Got it.”

To be fair, anyone can have a moment of forgetfulness. It happens to us all. The problem is that even after Johnson’s ‘memory’ was jolted; he still seemed unaware. Johnson gave a rather incoherent answer that exposed that Syrian foreign policy matters were far away from any policy considerations on his mind.

Republicans who just refuse to vote for Hillary Clinton hoped they could still have a vote they could be proud of casting. It seems like their next best alternative may be as naive as Donald Trump on international issues.
