O’Donnell slams Trump’s campaign assisted misogyny
Lawrence O’Donnell went beyond the news media discounting Trump’s misogyny. He exposed and shamed both Trump and his campaign for aiding the misogyny.
O’Donnell first pointed out Trump’s notion that Hillary Clinton did not have the look or stamina to be president. Of course many other countries, some we consider third world countries, elected throughout their history, women as their leaders.
O’Donnell played Hillary’s response where she pointed out the vile things Trump said about women in the past including his verbal abuse of many women. Lawrence used Trump’s reply to go after his campaign staff including his campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and his children.
Trump claimed that Rosie O’Donnell, ‘She deserves it;’ she deserved the verbal abuse he bestowed on her over the years. O’Donnell said that the phrase is one of the standard ones used by men who abuse their wives, children, and others. He ended with a severe admonition of Trump’s campaign staff and children.
“What he said last night,” O’Donnell said. “In those words, he shamed every person associated with his campaign including his children when he said everybody would agree. … If they don’t agree, step forward now and tell us that now….. Or live the rest of your lives with the shame that Donald Trump deserves for everything he has said about Rosie O’Donnell and other women. Live with that shame because Donald Trump said everybody agrees with him, And that means you.”
