Early voting begins today & Clinton can win Texas – Important info here (VIDEO)

Early voting begins today in Texas. It is important that you go vote today or within the next 11 days. Hillary can win Texas and we can restructure the Texas State House and Senate.

We can turn Texas blue this cycle. Hillary Clinton is in striking distance and the ground game is the difference. VOTE TODAY!

KHOU has a very good webpage with everything you need to know about this election. It includes early voting locations for the Houston metropolitan are including surrounding counties. It also includes sample ballots for several surrounding counties.

Voting requirements in Texas

  • Be registered to vote in Texas. Check here to see if you’re registered to vote.
  • Be a US citizen
  • Be 18 by Election Day, Nov 8
  • Live at a Texas address
  • Not be serving a sentence (including parole) for a felony conviction
  • Not have been determined by a court to be (1) totally mentally incapacitated; or (2) partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote

What you need to vote in person

Bring one of the following. The ID must be current, or be expired for less than 4 years:

  • Texas driver license issued by the Department of Public Safety
  • Texas election ID certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal ID card issued by DPS
  • Texas license to carry a handgun issued by DPS
  • US military ID card with your photograph
  • US citizenship certificate containing your photograph
  • US passport

Registered voters in the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro) service area are encouraged to hop on board METRO at no charge for a ride to the polls.

Free local bus, MetroRail and MetroLift paratransit service for voters will be available Saturday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Nov. 4 for early voters and on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. The free rides are offered  from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Voters should inform bus operators or fare inspectors they are going to or returning from the polls in order to receive the free rides.

“Voter participation is at the heart of democracy,” said MetroChair Carrin Patman. “It’s important that we do our part to ensure voters can get to a voting booth.”
