Van Jones is making light fun of it, but it is a double standard that people of color live that many seem oblivious to in their everyday lives.

This one election where Trump made straight talk, uninhibited speech, and misbehavior vogue, does no justice to those who rarely have the opportunity to have a free screw up.
Van Jones appeared on Bill Maher’s Real Time recently. Maher asked Jones for his reaction to today’s news. It was the day when the pretext of Anthony Weiner’s FBI investigation caused the additional examination of emails related to Hillary Clinton’s private server. Van Jones took the opportunity to give a rather a funny but serious answer.
“Well she’s [Clinton] got four men in her life,” Jones said. “Trump who is a pervert. Clinton who’s got a racy past. She’s got Wiener whose name she squirts off. And Barack Obama. And for once the black guy is the one guy not in trouble.”
Jones’ statement was more profound than many probably noticed. Trump so far has gotten away with sexual misconduct, shady business dealings, and verifiable lies. President Clinton maintained his stature even at the height of his scandals. Weiner remained marketable. Even as Obama maintains a clean life beyond approach, he still never gets the passes Trump and others get.
