A new survey of people who already voted in Florida should make Hillary Clinton and her supporters jubilant. More importantly is the breakdown of ballot cast which may speak well for the national election.
Hillary Clinton poised to win big in Florida
Hillary Clinton and her supporters can breathe a sigh of cautious relief based on the TargetSmart’s survey in Florida where she shows a substantial lead in early votes. TargetSmart’s Tom Bonier appeared on MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Tuesday night. O’Donnell asked him what was the state of the race in Florida.
Good news for Hillary Clinton
“We see this race as an eight-point spread in favor of Secretary Clinton – forty-eight / forty,” Tom Bonier said. “Which really is challenging the conventional wisdom of what we have seen so far. A lot of the vote in Florida has already been cast and elsewhere. As of this morning over 3.6 million votes have been cast. And so what is unique about this survey is our ability to actually pull people who have voted. There’s been a lot of analysis of whose voted by party but really no sense given of how they are voting. … What e have seen in this survey is Secretary Clinton is winning 28 percent of registered Republicans who have already cast a ballot.”
O’Donnell pointed out that the Republican percentage was a stunning number. In the early vote, Hillary Clinton is leading by 17 points, 55 to 38.
