Michael Moore on Morning Joe explains Clinton loss and protests that must follow (VIDEO)

November 11, 2016 By Egberto Willies

Michael Moore appeared on Morning Joe where he slammed the Democratic Party for missing what was occurring in Michigan. But he went much deeper into the failure of the establishment.

Michael Moore riveting Democratic autopsy

Michael Moore appeared on Morning Joe and gave the riveting reasons that were telegraphed for Clinton’s loss as he explained the protests that will occur.

Joe Scarborough asked Michael Moore why he predicted that Trump would win.

“I am Trump’s demographic,” Moore said.”I am an angry white guy over the age of thirty-five. And I have just a high school education. So I grew up with, I live with, still, live with, and  …”

Moore then went recounted an incident on Morning Joe where the panelist looked down at the Trump’s team method of engaging his supporters by selling caps. Moore then pointed out how the working class was left hanging by the unions when the Conservative Reagan onslaught began.

“It started under Ronald Reagan in Flint, in Detroit where people lost tens of thousands of jobs,” Moore said. And their lives were decimated. And they were kicked out of the middle-class. And Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, and the other unions didn’t stand up and say anything and do anything, that was the end right there. It just got worse, and worse, and worse for working people.”

Moore then pointed out the signals that Democrats missed.

“And let me just say it again, ” Moore said. “If people are confused about Michigan and Wisconsin, Bernie won Michigan and Wisconsin. We saw this back in March. She was ahead by 8 to 20 points on the day of the primary. And twelve hours later she loses in Michigan. That was a huge red flag. And the other red flag was that there was a hundred and thirty thousand more people who voted on the Republican ballot that day in Michigan than the Democratic ballot in a Democratic state. And the media completely ignored this. It’s like they didn’t see what was happening. The reason why Bernie won and Trump won Michigan, is because as you were talking about this election, people wanted change. Well, that’s the reason why Bernie won 22 states. How else can you explain a socialist, this is not a socialist country. How can a socialist win 22 states? Because people didn’t care about the label.”

Panelist Anand Giridharadas attempted to put some balance into the conversation which seemed concentrated solely on the pain in the midwest. He was completely shot down even as he attempted to make an important point that I will cover in another article. Giridharadas left a prescient statement that Moore agreed with, however.

“My fear for the very people you are talking about is that they voted for a populist with some amount of authoritarian tendencies,” Giridharadas said. “And what they are going to get is an authoritarian with a little bit of populist speak.

Moore and Anand Giridharadas then pointed out that Progressives, women, and the working class will resist and protest.
