CNN Chris Cuomo grills Kellyanne Conway for Trump boys selling access for millions (VIDEO)

December 22, 2016 By Egberto Willies

CNN’s Chris Cuomo continues to show what journalism must look like especially when dealing with likely the most lying administration is U.S. history. Kellyanne Conway took the brunt this time and did not fare well.

Kellyanne Conway grilled

Kellyann Conway, Trump’s new Counselor to the President, attempted to use her full spin as CNN’s Chris Cuomo grilled her to no avail. The word salad is losing its luster, and her frustration was evident.

“The story that came out that there was a plan to auction off access to the president and the sons around the inauguration weekend until the Center for Public Integrity blew it up and now it’s going away,” Chris Cuomo said. “Were you aware of that solicitation of what was going on and the sons’ involvement.”

“Look, they are all going to do whatever they need to do under the law to comply with our major changes to their family and to their family’s business, and certainly to their father’s status as president of the United States,” Kellyanne Conway said. “But I think we should go back and look at what Don Junior and Eric have done and wanted to continue to do; which is raise money for charities. The Eric Trump Foundation, it has done enormously great work in many  different corners.”

Chris Cuomo was ready for the cookie cutter response.

“It’s the same thing the Clinton people said when they were defending their allegations of pay for play,” Cuomo said. “They were selling off a million dollar trip to hunt with the boys and hang out with the president. That sounds like paying for access.”

“I don’t know how they are the same,” Conway angrily responded.

But Cuomo did not let up.

“It is paying money to get to power,” Cuomo replied.

Conway then started to do what she used to do very well, shift focus to the Clintons to deflect.

“Very different than worrying about friends of William Jefferson Clinton getting the contracts after Haiti suffers a devastating hurricane in 2010. …” Conway said.

Cuomo continued pressing.

“So paying a million dollars to hang out with the president is okay,” Cuomo chided.

“I didn’t say that,” a flustered Conway responded.

“I know,” Cuomo said. “You are not answering. You answering by going after the Clintons. What is your answer.”

“You mentioned the Clinton Foundation,” Conway said. “You said it was the same. I am telling you it is absolutely not.”

She is right about that. The Clinton Foundation can show tangible successes where people have been helped throughout the world. Trump has no substantial examples where he’s made a difference for anyone but himself.

Cuomo kept the pressure on.

“I am saying you are giving the same defense,” Cuomo said. “It’s close to Christmas. I will give you a gift. Let’s say that is worse. That doesn’t make this okay. And it is interesting that Eric Trump, Don Junior is backing away from it now. If it is all okay why are they backing away.”

“Because they support their father,” Conway said. “And they know we’ll never get a fair shake in the Trump administration, and that is unfortunate. And I think this conversation shows that.”

Poor Trump administration. They can dish out lies, insults and misinformation. They can hurt people. But everyone is against their little boy when they are called on it.
