Our political leaders like Ted Cruz are now using police officers as a barrier to confronting citizens they intend to harm and betray.
Police officers escort women from Ted Cruz office
On Tuesday, January 25th, 2017 at 9:00 AM, several dozen Texans attempted to speak to Senator Ted Cruz’s staffers. Most were kicked out by Houston Police officers. About 30 people showed up to the office. The Cruz staffer seemed surprised and frazzled as she only allowed four Texans to enter the rooms.
While meeting with the four Texans, two police officers showed up and claimed that the building owner did not want the Cruz constituents in the hall outside the Senator’s office. Many of the people said they believed that their removal denied their constitutional rights. The police officers told them that given that the office is on private property, the owner had the right to deny them access to the building.
The constituents left peacefully and even thanked the police officers. After all, the police officers were doing their jobs correctly in this case. They must enforce the current law as they see it. It is the politicians that must be held accountable for bad laws.
But they are determined to keep up the pressure on politicians that are hurting their constituents. The Women’s March on Austin was only the beginning in Texas.
