Democrats support nominee of stolen Supreme Court seat at their political peril (VIDEO)

Demand no Democratic support for nominee of stolen Supreme Court seat (VIDEO)

The media is going goo-goo gaga over Donald Trump’s nomination of Neil Gorsuch. They have already begun stacking the narrative against Democrats as they make it seem Democrats would be wrong to deny this qualified candidate.

Merrick Garland was a qualified centrist candidate. Neil Gorsuch is a Right Wing extremist based on his past. Most of America did not vote to elect such a candidate. Remember, Donald Trump lost the popular vote by three million votes and as such has no mandate. That reality alone demands a different type of Supreme Court Justice selection.

But most importantly, this Supreme Court Justice seat was stolen from the Democrats. We set a precedent by rewarding this despicable act. Here is my take that I am sure is the sentiment of millions going forward.

No Democrat must vote for any Trump Supreme Court nominee

Neil Gorsuch is going to be the Supreme Court Justice nominee. This guy may be very intelligent. This guy may be very well qualified which I think he is. But I think it’s important for us not to allow the media to change the discussion as they’re doing right now.

CNN is talking about ‘Democrats will have a very hard time going against this man because he is so credentialed because he is so good.’ And then, they are concerned as well, about the filibuster. Why lose the filibuster on a seat like this one given that he’s in to replace Scalia? It would keep the court in balance, the way it was before Obama, just the same.

Well, that’s not the point. Progressives must completely fight against any Senator, whether they’re in red states, blue states, or purple States. Any Senator that votes with Gorsuch, that votes to confirm him, we must ensure that we primary. And the reason why simple. We’ve been losing these battles because Americans feel like we’re not in the fight for them. We have no spine. We have no backbone. We don’t get out there and say ‘This is the way things are going to be, period.’

Here’s the deal. Let’s remember this. This isn’t about qualifications at all. This is about process. This is a stolen seat that belonged to President Barack that Republicans who held the Senate decided not to confirm; not even to have a hearing on this person. And as such, it’s incumbent upon every Democrat to do exactly the same.

The seat that was vacated by Antonin Scalia, it must remain open for all four years of the Trump administration if he lasts that long. And the reason why is specific. They took away that seat from Democrats.

But let me go further. Richard Burr said “And if Hillary Clinton becomes president, I am going to do everything I can to make sure that four years from now we’ve still got an opening on the Supreme Court. That was Republican North Carolina Senator Burr who said that.

Likewise, Cruz said the same thing. There was support as well from the Federalist institution that said if Hillary Clinton became president, this particular seat would be open and remain open for those four years. In other words, if the Republicans kept the Senate, they were not going to allow Hillary Clinton to get a Supreme Court justice.

Now we don’t have any power in the Senate. The only the power we have currently is the filibuster. Let them., the Republicans, use the filibuster to approve Gorsuch if they dear do it.

For all those Democrats that are scared that say well, why waste the filibuster on this. Let’s not do it because we’re afraid that they may go nuclear. And once they go nuclear, the Senate is exactly the same as the house. Which means majority rule. Simple majority rules.

I say go for it. Democrats are as well saying, “Well let’s not mess with the filibuster now or force them to go nuclear now because we may get a better senator or a better Supreme Court justice, in case one of the older 80- something-year-old Supreme Court justices go down, retire or whatever.

If there’s one example Republicans have shown us thus far is that they don’t care. They move forward. They don’t care about consequences. And that is why they win. They lose popular votes. They win. No matter what they do, they get their message across.

Progressives need to start doing the same. It’s wonderful to see that we have the indivisible guide because it taught a lot of folks how to fight. But please remember this. Go ahead and make sure all the people you know in your domain, in your social media circles, in your email circles, in your church, everywhere; make sure that they contact both their democratic and republican congress person and tell them we are not supporting any ascension to the Supreme Court this cycle. And anyone who supports that will be primaried. That’s what we do.

No Democrat allowed to vote for Neil Gorsuch. None! Folks, please remember, we for once need to get a spine. And we for once need to come out fighting, and we may lose some. It doesn’t matter. We may lose. We may even lose another Supreme Court Justice. And we may lose the Supreme Court for a decade. But Americans need to start seeing us fight for something. \

So, it’s incumbent upon us to go ahead and make sure that, — it’s early in the process — so we can start teeing this up. This is on principle. A Supreme Court justice was stolen from President Obama, and therefore we must hold that position for the next Democrat who justly should be the one assigning that particular seat.

We have work to do. We have to make sure that all these guys out there, every single Democrat and Republican know that anyone who supports the ascendancy of Neil Gorsuch will be primaried.
