Congressman Ted Poe’s Kingwood office gets visit from his district’s Indivisible TX-02 group (VIDEO)

February 28, 2017 By Egberto Willies

As a member of several Houston area Indivisible groups, Our Revolution groups, Democratic groups, and other progressive organizations, my biggest fear was that all these groups within the progressive movement would falter after the 2016 election losses. My town’s Indivisible TX-02 group like many others over the last few weeks is empowering us all.

The Indivisible TX-02 group gave the Kingwood office of their Congressman, Ted Poe, a visit in person to secure an appointment and they got one. They gathered at around 10:30 AM on Tuesday in front of the complex housing Poe’s office. Before going into the office, Hendrickson explained why they were there.

The audio is not very good. We filtered out the wind that was blowing into the microphone. Indivisible TX-02 wants Ted Poe to meet with his constituents in Kingwood. Specifically, they are concerned about Russia’s infiltration of the 2016 presidential elections.  Hendrickson is concerned with Poe’s vote on HR 111 which would mandate the release of the President’s tax returns and other documents to discern conflicts of interests.

The group was greeted warmly. They made the receptionist aware of their inability to speak to Poe’s people and inability to get an appointment. They explained that they wanted a town hall with Poe and pointed out other concerns.  They left with the appointment they had been seeking for weeks.
