Senator Dianne Feinstein made what could only be called an explosive statement that seems to indicate she may be privy to information most of us do not have on Donald Trump. She implies he may quit the presidency.
Senator Dianne Feinstein believes Trump may resign
Senator Feinstein rather explosive statement while answering some constituents' questions is bound to get attention especially coming from her. Remember, she sits on the Judiciary Committee and the Rules and Administration Committee.
A constituent went right to the point.
"You just looked white as a ghost yesterday when you came out of that meeting," the woman said. "And we don't know what is happening. But we know he is breaking laws every day. He is making money at Mar o Lago. He has copyrights in China. He has obvious dealings with Russia. There are so many things that he is doing that are unconstitutional. How are we going to get him out? That's what I want to know."
Senator Feinstein was calm and circumspect as she answered.
"We have a lot of people looking at this," Senator Feinstein said. "I think he is going to get himself out. I think, sending sons to another country to make a financial deal for, his company and then have that covered with government expenses. I believe those government expenses should not be allowed. We are working on a bill that will do that now. We are working on a couple of bills that will deal with conflicts of interest. It is difficult because this is a field that relates to some extent to the emolument clause to the constitution. And there is no preceding legislation to do this. We've got good people looking at it. And we are going to some of the ethicists along the line."
The recent change in tone towards Trump from some leading Republicans suggests there may be more to come. A few days ago John McCain said,
There's a lot of aspects of this whole relationship with Russia and Vladimir Putin that requires further scrutiny. And, so far, I don't think the American people have gotten all the answers. In fact, I think there's a lot more shoes to drop from this centipede.
Senator Feinstein just may be on to something.
