We are all humans. Reality has a tendency on sneaking up on flawed ideology and deceitful politicians. This Trump voter is a Donald Trump supporter no more.
Donald Trump fan no more
Kraig Moss was a devoted Trump fan. He lost his son to a drug overdose and believed Trump’s Wall was the answer to the drug problem. According to the Washington Post early in the campaign,
“I lost a lot of drive when I lost my son,” Moss said, while taking a break from playing on a frigid Thursday morning at a truck stop on the outskirts of Des Moines, Iowa. Drawn to Trump’s promises to build a wall across the U.S.-Mexico border, Moss believes the candidate is the one most capable of stopping the drug epidemic that he says claimed his beloved son, Rob “J.R.” Moss.
Moss shadowed Trump throughout the campaign, attending over 45 rallies and singing the gospel according to the Donald. Trump promised to help addicted people throughout Trump Country. He even singled out Moss at one of the rallies. Moss has since soured on Donald Trump. CNN caught up with Kraig Moss recently.
“I am not on the Trump trail anymore,” Moss said. “And I have lost my heart to play the Trump songs.”
Moss believed his son would still be alive if he had health insurance. Ironically, the Republican health care bill as opposed to helping those like Moss’ deceased son, would make the problem worse as it kicks many millions off the insured rolls and does not include essential coverage many ailments like addiction, etc. In other words, the old insurance schemes will make their comeback. Moss cannot believe Trump supports the Republican health care plan.
“I believed everything he said,” Moss said. “Now I don’t believe he was true in his word when he was speaking. I think he was looking for votes, to be honest with you. It is not at all what Mr. Trump promised everybody he was going to provide for us. And I feel that now. I feel hurt inside.”
More and more Trump supporters will see the light. They will feel more pronouncedly when they feel the pain Trump and the Right Wing Republicans is determined to inflict on them to extract what’s left.
Donald Trump and Paul Ryan are playing with the lives of every poor and middle-class American. As MSNBC’s Ali Velshi explained, the free market simply does not work for health insurance, period. Chuck Todd recently pointed out that the new plan decimates coverage for all but mostly to the Trump voter.
