Ted Poe did not come down from his meeting with the fat cats at the Houston Chamber of Commerce event he attended at Southwestern Energy in Spring, Texas. While he dined in the luxury of the high rise building, his constituents spent more than two hours in the hot sun hoping that he would do the right thing and address them. They brought the town hall to him.

Indivisible have been tracking, engaging, phoning, faxing, and writing to Ted Poe throughout the year.

Neil Aquino gives protesters update of his call to Ted Poe’s office

Neil Aquino called Congressman Poe’s office and asked when will the town hall meeting take place. The video above is his report.

The protest was organized by members of Indivisible TX-02 Northeast Houston. It was an organic assembly that was put together with an Indivisible TX-02  Facebook event.

Mar 31 – Ted Poe Protest, Texans Will Be Heard

Join us for a protest against Ted Poe!

Efforts to schedule an in-person town hall meeting with Ted Poe have been frustrated by his office. Despite our efforts, we have been unable to obtain a commitment that such a meeting will occur or even a time frame within which it might occur. We are taking the town hall to Ted. If you want your voice to be heard by your congressman, if you want to stop the Trump agenda and if you want to make a difference, this protest is for you.

Please invite your friends and share this post!

Kevin Brady and Sheila Jackson-Lee will also be present at this conference; Texans from all congressional districts are welcome.

Ample free parking is available along E. Mossy Oaks Road. Additional details on our precise meeting location at 10000 Energy Dr., Spring, TX will be provided closer to the event.

Please bring signs and materials to make signs if you are able. Indivisible Houston 02 will provide some material to create signs as well.

Poe’s constituents, Texas District 2, started to assemble at around 11:00 AM. By 11:30 about 50 people assembled with signs and bullhorns. And constituents had a lot to say.

Many of the protesters hoped that Ted Poe would be magnanimous by coming down and addressing the protesters. He did not.

Several TV stations came out to cover the event.

After a few hours of making its point, the group marched around the building. After a few more chants, they disbanded.
