Bernie Sanders laughed at Trump’s ignorance for not realizing his evil AHCA bill is anathema to something that works: Australia’s universal healthcare. Trump said the following in the video clip.
“It is a very good bill right now,” Donald Trump said in a press conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. “Premiums are going to come down very substantially. Deductibles are going to come down. It is going to be fantastic healthcare. Right now, Obamacare is failing.”
Trump then turned to Turnbull.
“We have a failing healthcare,” Trump said to the Australian Prime Minister. “I shouldn’t say this to our great gentleman and my friend from Australia because you have better healthcare than we do.“
That is the only truthful statement Donald Trump made during that diatribe. Australia has a much better system than ours. They have real Universal healthcare. Everyone is covered.
After watching the clip, Bernie Sanders and Chris Hayes laughed almost uncontrollably.
“Wait a minute, Chris,” Sanders said. “The president has just said it. That’s great. Let’s take a look at the Australian healthcare system. Maybe let’s take a look at the Canadian healthcare system or systems throughout Europe. Thank you, Mr. president. Let us move to a Medicare-for-all system that does what every other major country on earth does to guarantee health care to all people at a fraction of the cost per capita that we spend. Thank you, Mr. president. We will quote you on the floor of the Senate.”
Later on, Sanders said our political job is to rally the American people to work with nurses, doctors, and hospitals who will be slammed by Trumpcare.
