Russian Foreign Minister makes fun of Andrea Mitchell’s question on Comey firing (VIDEO)

May 10, 2017 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

It is clear that the Trump Administration is happy to put a salted thumb in the eye of the American people. This is not the first time that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stayed quiet as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov disrespected an American reporter.

Sergey Lavrov dismisses Andrea Mitchell’s question

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov responded to Andrea Mitchell’s question with disdain as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson just watched and walked off. Lavrov is in Washington DC for a meeting with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. It is ironic that this meeting is occurring less than twenty-four hours after the firing of James Comey,

“I want to welcome Foreign Minister Lavrov to the State Department and express my appreciation for him making the trip to Washington,” Tillerson said. “So that we can continue our dialogue and our exchange of views that began in Moscow with the dialogue he hosted on a very broad range of topics. Thank you.”

After welcoming Lavrov, a reporter, MSNBC Andrea Mitchell, asked if the firing of FBI Director James Comey casts a shadow on their talks. Lavrov made fun of the question as he dismissed it with disdain.

“Does the Comey firing cast a shadow over your talks gentlemen,” Andrea Mitchell asked.

“Was he fired,” Lavrov replied sarcastically. “You are kidding. You are kidding.” He then gave a dismissive antic and walked off.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was true to form as he simply walked off as the Russian disrespected our press correspondents. After-all, we cannot forget that Tillerson smiled as he allowed Lavrov to disrespect an American reporter a few weeks ago in Russia. Rachel Maddow showed then how both Republican and Democratic Presidents have come to the defense of the American Press. But the Trump Administration and Rex Tillerson have given foreign governments carte blanche to go after our reporters.
