Progressives need to listen to these snippets from the Paul Ryan News Conference today. Even with all the storm clouds, he is unafraid to tell you what House and Senate Republicans are intent on doing. And all they need is a signature from a weakening presidency.
Paul Ryan is steady as you making light of Trump storm clouds
Paul Ryan is steady as you go even with all of the storm clouds over the Donald Trump presidency. Progressives better remember how government works.
This is the most dangerous time for Progressives. Why? Because we are smelling blood. Remember, Donald Trump was never a Republican. The Republican Establishment hates him. But eventually, they realized he could strategically activate their base, and triangulate to attract a portion of the Obama voter not win the popular vote but to win the electoral vote. No other Republican primary candidate could do that. Mike Pence, had he run, could not. But Mike Pence is the type of Republican the base loves. And they may yet get him in.
The ironic part about this entire situation is that the intellectually deficient, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, racist Donald Trump with a populist facade could likely get the health care system every Right Wing Republican has been salivating for which is anathema to his campaign promises. As his poll numbers begin to fall, he becomes more discardable. But what we must be cognizant of is that we cannot allow the grand pilfer to occur.
Let us make sure to keep the heat on all of our political representatives. If we don’t they will believe that the citizenry will simply acquiesce to their will because of some sort of demoralization.
I am discussing this today on my show Politics Done Right live on KPFT 90.1 FM in the Houston Metropolitan area, concurrently on Facebook Live, and at KPFT.org. I would love to get your input.
