3 “Healthy” Tips about your diets that you should reconsider

November 26, 2017 By Egberto Willies

Several diets claim they are what you need to be healthy. But don’t believe everything that you read.

Here are three “healthy” myths you should reconsider.

  • Dairy products cause breast cancer: No study has been able to prove the link between dairy products and cancer.
  • In a research that takes lifestyle factors into account, like personal diet and exercise routine, being a vegetarian guarantees good health although it is important to include fruits and vegetables in our diet, it’s completely unnecessary to completely eliminate animal products as long as they don’t make up more than 10% of what we eat.
  • An egg equals five cigarettes: Rich in fat, eggs are associated with the narrowing of blood vessels, but it’s not even close to the damage caused by smoking. Studies show that in almost all cases, HDL (the “good”) cholesterol goes up, total and LDL cholesterol levels usually don’t change, but sometimes they increase slightly, eating Omega-3 enriched eggs can lower blood triglycerides, another important risk factor, and blood levels of carotenoid antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthin increase significantly. As a matter of fact, they are perfectly nutritious and healthy food item.

Now that you know, keep enjoying the foods you love.
