Democrats along with a few Republicans voted against a continuing resolution that shut down the government on Friday. They wanted a DACA deal and thought it was their only leverage to get it. It probably was. But ultimately, they caved after three days.

Throughout yesterday after McConnell made his false promise, left-leaning pundits started talking about Democrats overplaying their hands. Are you kidding? The Republican Congress since the third year of the Obama administration has been intransigent and obstructionist. While they were called out, how many times did anyone say they were overplaying their hands.
Americans want someone they know will stand up for them. It is clear that knowing that Democrats caved again will do little to bolster their faith that they have a party that will fight for them.
Republicans stole a Supreme Court justice from President Obama. The Democrats had options to play hardball then including a sort of recess appointment. Did they? Of course not.
Republicans had no problem immediately blowing the filibuster and putting an ideologue on the Supreme court.
So yes, Democrats caved again. It is up to the grassroots to elect Progressives that are not scared to fight for the things most Americans believe in.
