Hillary Clinton taking flak for making a factual statement about 2016 election (VIDEO)

March 13, 2018 By Egberto Willies

While I am not a Hillary Clinton fan, the flak she is taking for hurting the feelings of a few for a factual statement is entirely unfair. It is being spun as sour grapes when instead it should present a more critical question. Why?

We must examine Hillary Clinton’s factual statement in more detail

Hillary Clinton pointing out the realities of the states that did not vote for her is essential. It helps analyze what happened in the 2016 election. Here is what Clinton said verbatim.

“[If one looks at] the map of the United States,” Hillary Clinton said. “There is all that red in the middle where Trump won. I win the coast. I win Illinois, Minnesota, places like that. But what the map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s Gross Domestic Product. So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backward. You know you didn’t like black people getting rights. You didn’t like women getting jobs. You don’t want to see that Indian American succeeding more than you are. Whatever your problem is, I am going to solve it. So it was a symptom. But it was also a cause because, having someone run for president, who voices those ideas, who rejects so much of the American story, and our values, was also the underlying cause as well.”

Sometimes the truth does not seem kind but to understand the dynamics of the country and to prevent the demagoguery from politicians, must be told. Hillary Clinton did win in the areas of the country where most people live and are more diverse. It is a fact that where she won accounts for about 2/3 of the country’s GDP. Trump won a lot more counties, 2626 vs. 487, places where few people live.

Joe Scarborough lashed out at Clinton.

“It’s kind of hard to suggest that people in Wisconsin are retrograde and looking backwards and don’t want good things for women and blacks and Hispanics and others other than white males when Hillary Clinton didn’t even campaign in Wisconsin,” Scarborough said. “Are there no mirrors in the Clinton household?”

Other comments like this are just silly but littered Twittersphere.

Spotted from @HerecomesDrBob this AM. Maybe not the best look for your party going forward if you’re last Presidential candidate is bragging about carrying the parts of the country w/ highest GDP https://t.co/Zs3PvO3qnF

Here is the reality. Many of the people in the red areas of the country have been duped into believing that the rest of the country are slackers. They have been led to believe that people are taking something from them when the converse is more close to reality. Most Progressives have known for a long time that Blue States have been supporting Red States for a long time. The problem is that their inhabitants are currently too uninformed to know that. Any doubt of that is evident in a Twitter exchange I had with a Right Winger.

One hopes that as more independent sources of information take hold, they will slowly educate and open and free the minds of those enslaved by the ignorance imposed on them by their deceitful politicians and handlers.
