Upset listener of Politics Done Right inadvertently proves my point about American Capitalism

A listener to my Politics Done Right show called me intellectually dishonest for presenting a provable case that our economic system is designed to pilfer most Americans whether they realize it or not. I used Toys “R” Us failure as an example. If we dropped our indoctrination and just look at the realities of the average American citizen, the solutions are much clearer. Here is the exchange.

If you want the background for the exchange, visit watch or listen to the show here.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. ·Egberto Willies, their business model was fundamentally flawed – I have no problem with your perspective on social issues, but you don’t know a damned thing about business and it is intellectually dishonest – if you really want to be a public voice – to talk about shit you nothing about. Stay in your lane, brother.

Egberto Willies · Instead of simply attacking specify what you believe I was wrong about. To be clear, I stick and can back up every word I said. Now let’s debate the facts.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. · Ok – let’s talk facts – please note that I am politically independent; tell me how the fundamentals of their business model didn’t indicate that they should have gone out of business 10 years earlier (which they would have if they weren’t publicly traded). Also, please provide “your” academic or other training that qualifies you to professionally state what you have stated.

Egberto Willies · And that I know nothing about business is laughable. I built one from scratch. I provided the intellect, the product, and the business acumen. I bought my house, my cars, and paid for my daughter’s undergrad degree. There were no dependencies on the whims of the selfish design of the corporate structure. There was no dependency on pilfering the intellect of others to make a buck by providing nothing of value. Companies like Bain Capital are the true definitions of parasites.

Egberto Willies · So Mr. Sullivan, if you want to test my business knowledge as implemented in the U.S., let’s go. Hell, you should call into the show in real time so our listeners can judge based on facts.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. · Egberto, starting and running a business does not qualify you as a subject matter expert in business, commerce, and capitalism; it only says that you found a market and exploited it – which is the American Dream. Again I ask; what educational foundation do you have in business which gives fundamental credence to your stated?

Egberto Willies · Rudy Sutherland Jr. The fact that a parasitic enterprise took them private is proof enough they were still viable. That is the reality for leveraged buyouts. As for academic qualification, my degree is in engineering (BSME), which I am sure you are aware requires much more complex thinking/math than that needed by bankers and the titans of finance. I also started working on my MBA, got bored and formed my own company. To be clear, inasmuch as I have a very difficult degree, I give little importance to the degreed and give more to those willing to read and learn and not be indoctrinated by a system that provably pilfers most.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. · Egberto, taking them private, to exploit their assets, was a real function of American capitalism as it actually is. Q: you didn’t learn that in business School… or, did you go to business school?

Egberto Willies · Rudy Sutherland Jr. You just made my point. Thank you.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. · No I didn’t – but you never answered my questions and anyone reading this thread recognizes that “fact”; you’re full of shit brother. Q: is this really how you make money? SMH

Egberto Willies · Rudy Sutherland Jr.Comical. Indoctrinated by the business schools irrespective of the outcomes obvious to all. Yes, you do make my point EOD.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. · Egberto, if you don’t like capitalism as it is, leave brother. But, you speak from a point of “ignorance”, “pimping.”

Egberto Willies · Rudy Sutherland Jr. (1) I will not leave. I will continue to work with all those who really produce something of value and expose the pilfer by the titans of finance (bankers, the Bain Capital type firms) that produce nothing but capitalizing on the intellect and service of others. I will not only provide hope but be a part of the army that will force a change. (2) As the one who came to this platform to complain, I simply invited you to make your points in real time. I am civil and would be happy to debate you point for point. You see I understand all aspects of this economy my friend. If I were pimping, I would be rich. I gave up a very profitable business to do this. Sometimes I kick myself in the butt because it is hard and many times one gets no rewards. That said, I sleep well at night knowing I am doing something positive for society instead of living an Ayn Randian existence that not even Ayn Rand could live in her later years.

Egberto Willies · PS: I am done with this sub-thread. I normally go only 3 iterations max but you touched a nerve. I am done. You can call into the show if you can muster the courage for a real debate, my friend.

Rudy Sutherland Jr. · Dude, I could care less about your continued engagement; you’re a coward and never told your listeners that you’re not qualified to talk your shit – however, educated folks will recognize that, while well-intentioned, you don’t know what the f**k you’re talking about. My recommendation; and I’m a former finance university dean > go back to school, perhaps study the law. Have a good evening, respectfully.

Politics Done Right with Egberto Willies · For those following this sub-thread, note that Mr. Rudy Sutherland Jr., a former finance university dean could attack me with profanity, could get upset at me, but was unable to reveal even one statement to dispute the accuracy of what I said. Reality and outcomes corroborate absolutely everything I stated. We cannot be fooled by those indoctrinated by our business schools that teach a pilfer methodology. It takes courage, to tell the truth, but just eyes to see what is happening to our country.

The importance of this thread is to show how those like this listener indoctrinated by our business schools and other teaching entities can ignore reality. They’ve learned to defend the indefensible with attacks and the inability to make a cohesive point.
