Virtually all white interns, Trump’s White House making a statement

April 1, 2018 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Why write about Trump’s virtually all white interns? Four years of interns where an administration excludes a large segment of the American population presents a severe problem more so than catches the eyes.

Trump’s White House Interns vs. Obama’s

Spring 2018 Interns Trump vs Obama - White vs Diverse

The lack of diversity shown in the photograph above between Trump’s White House interns and President Obama’s is a message Trump wants a sect in America to see. Just about every photo released by the White House is usually scrutinized because the administrations know that every message verbal or otherwise emanating from the White House is meant to reveal something about the administration.

It is not hard to fathom that the President is trying to remind the 30% of the country why they put him there. To ensure he bestows benefits on a particular group. The Hill reported an interesting tidbit.

Social media users are criticizing President Trump’s White House for a lack of diversity among its interns. The criticism comes after the White House released a photo Friday of its spring interns posing with Trump. … This isn’t the first time a photo of White House interns in the Trump administration has been scrutinized. A White House intern said last year that he wasn’t making a white power gesture in the intern photo with Trump after social media users said he appeared to be doing so.

Professional growth is not instantaneous. It starts from Kindergarten through college through internships and beyond. If the chain of development is broken at anytime, those affected by that break are irreparably damaged. Even if they succeed beyond that occurrence the fact is whatever struggle they had to endure would have been better used for further professional growth.

One can’t stunt someone’s growth then complain when one tries to remedy the deliberative sabotage with programs like Affirmative Action and set-asides. No one is asking for equal outcomes. Every one must demand equal access to success. The photo and actions of the Trump administration illustrates clearly his cabal is anathema to the slow growth America has made in that regard. Shame on the president.

Mea Culpa: I have been blogging since blogging came into existence. As as a black/Latino/Caribbean man, I never blogged about race because I did not want to be placed in a box. I am a blogger, not a black blogger. Sadly, with the the election of President Obama and Trump, I find that I must write about racial issues much more than I ever wanted to do. There is so much more happening in this world that need coverage more so than something used to divide. Concentration on pigmentation robs us of the necessary enlightenment on so many other issues. Unfortunately, we cannot leave the racial path a sect of the population is pushing lest we fail to arrest a metastasizing cancer. Rest assured most Progressive bloggers of consequence are working harder to make these stories additive and not subtractive to the knowledge growth we hope to impart.
