Bill Maher started his New Rule on Real Time by pointing out that when many shunned him during his tribulations with his program, Roseanne stuck with him. She visited his show and also gave him a part in hers. He then proceeded to scold her for her support for Trump especially given her background;

Maher told Roseanne that she is now the face of the Trump supporter, folks that know they are being screwed but don’t know by whom. Maher then lit into Roseanne.
“As your friend Roseanne,” Maher said. “I must remind you of something very important. You are a socialist. You’ve been one for thirty years. You said most billionaires are violent pedophiles”
Bill Maher enumerated the real difference that Roseanne has with Trump’s domestic policy.
“You are not Archie Bunker,” Maher said. “You are Bernie Sanders. You had it right back when you said, ‘There is a serious class war going on in our country, a war on poor people by rich people.'”
Maher then showed how Trump’s words were anathema to the policies he enacts. Maher near the end, suggests that Roseanne make a more realistic narrative for Season 2.
“So, here’s the deal,” Maher began. “I get that you were mad as hell and wanted to throw a monkey wrench into the whole works and I won’t judge that. But if in the next six months you don’t see Trump’s magic starting to work for you if [Dan and Roseanne Conner are] still trading pills and driving an Uber, wouldn’t the more realistic plotline for Season 2 be your disillusionment with Donald Trump?
Sadly, everybody is trying to make a buck off of America’s worst president. In the process, one hopes that activists monetizing Trump do not lose their way. It was clear Roseanne was shooting for a particular demographic.
