The founder of the Bernie or Bust movement Victor Tiffany was the guest on Politics Done Right. He was very passionate in his statements as he was during the inception of the Bernie campaign.
Victor Tiffany Interview
Victor Tiffany had a lot to say on Politics Done Right. He was evident in his belief that it is vital that we take control of our destiny.
To be clear, while I was a Bernie Sanders National Delegate, I was never a Bernie or Bust guy. I couldn't be. Yes, I am a Left Wing Progressive, but I am also a pragmatist who will do what is necessary to ensure the poor and the middle-class gets the best deal possible from our society.
Tiffany called into Politics Done Right (PDR) before the 2016 election where he attempted to defend the practicality of the Bernie or Bust movement. In his most recent interview with PDR discussed his new book "Bernie or Bust, Pioneers of Electoral Revolt."
As we got into the discussion, we had a few disagreements on the success of Donald Trump. He was of the belief that the working class saw a more significant increase in wages than had been seen in a long time. After pointing out the out of pocket increases that will afflict the middle-class because of his health care, trade, and other policies, he conceded that any wage rise would be lost entirely and more.
It is essential that we allow all points of views to be aired. In fact, attempting to silence voices was instrumental in the outcome of the 2016 election and many other elections. I told Victor Tiffany that he would continue to play an essential part in the movement. That reality comes with much responsibility. It is clear Victor has a following that he can influence to ensure. Progressives work together towards our ultimate goal.
