Democracy for America (DFA) endorses Adrienne Bell for US House TX-14

September 7, 2018 By Egberto Willies

Former President Obama recently endorsed Adrienne Bell, Democratic U.S. House Candidate to represent Texas district 14. Today she got another major feather in her cap. Endorsements from Democracy for America (DFA) requires someone who supports poor and middle-class centric policies. It is clear she fits the profile.

Adrienne Bell has been working her district for some time now. She is running a very active grassroots campaign. Bell understands her district. In fact, she called on Governor Abbott to release the Rainy Day Funds after Hurricane Harvey, something he eventually did.

DFA Chair Jim Dean released the following statement.

“In 2018, Democrats have nominated a series of trailblazing warriors for inclusive populist priorities all across t.he country who will be positively critical to helping us seize the majority of the U.S. House and have a shot at retaking control of the Senate.

“Today, we’re particularly excited to announce our endorsements of Adrienne Bell for U.S. House in Texas 14th”

Jim Dean continued.

“Adrienne Bell (TX-14) is a Houstonian and grassroots organizer who has spent years working to turn Texas blue on Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign and at Battleground Texas. When she’s elected to Congress this year, not only will she be the first Black woman sent to represent Texas’ 14th District, she’ll be a trusted leader in the fight to pass Medicare for All, protect abortion rights, deliver on criminal justice reform, and make sure that every student has a chance to thrive in local public schools.”

I interviewed Neil Sroka, Democracy for America (DFA) Director of communications at Netroots Nation 2018 where he said he expected solid Progressive performance at all levels in 2018.

“We’ve got some amazing candidates running for office,” Neil Sroka said. “We are going to be supporting over 250 candidates throughout the country this year. And those are folks running from the tippy top of the ballot for U.S. Senate all the way down to county commissioner and water board member. There is so much to be excited about.”

It is clear why Adrienne Bell became one of DFA’s latest supported candidates. That speaks very well for her campaign which will have a new army supporting her. Be a part of the Blue Wave by supporting Adrienne Bell at Bell2018.com.
