Shut off Trump’s mic and let’s talk about a new economy once and for all

January 22, 2019 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Are you tired of turning on the TV, radio, or scanning your social media feed and finding Trump all over them? It is time to take away the mic from Donald Trump.

There are several ways to do that. One is for the mainstream media to correct the errors of their ways. They can take the mic away from Trump by intentionally ignoring his tweets and making it clear to Trump they will go solely to his media team. We should not hold our breath for that. The mainstream media are timid. They have no desire to buck either their advertisers or the Trump administration.

There is a more intentional manner to take the mic away from Trump. It requires some responsibility on the part of each American. It means that they must limit their intake of cable news and broadcast news. It is clear these resources were not very helpful in informing Americans in such a manner that made them vote their interests.

And what are the interests of mos Americans? We need a new economy. It is clear the current economy is failing most as most of the spoils go to an undeserving few. This does not require a revolution as we had in the old days. It requires a revolution of thought.

We must first come to the realization that each of us individually matters and that we still have power. We still have the power to vote in any candidate of choice. But to ensure we get the candidate of choice requires that we tune out the misinforming sources. It does not mean we remain devoid of external news and information. It means getting it from the correct sources, the Independent Progressive media.

So what should a new economy look like? I appeared on WUSB in Long Island recently and discussed this with Progressive Host Jim Lynch and touched on it on Politics Done Right.

I will be posting a subsequent blog on what that new economy would look like. Stay tuned.
