Many are missing the real story about what is occurring in the country. Many of us have it backward. It is true that Donald Trump was not elected by a majority. However, enough Americans saw all that is terrible about him as normal, something they could live with which did not stop them from voting for him. That reality makes it clear that Trump is nothing but a symptom since his election shows that his reflection did not scare many.
Donald Trump: Just the symptom
We have a lot of work. Sadly, whether he serves out his term or he is impeached, much will not change. He has unleashed a hibernating cancer in the psyches of many.
The cure will require lengthy and potent chemotherapy session. Can we do it? Of course, we can. I would not be so heavily invested in the movement if I thought it was futile. It will require vigilance and persistence. We are up to the task.
