Now that Joe Biden has jumped into the race, Democrats will have two paths. The status quo of Joe Biden & Amy Klobuchar or the Progressive middle-class centric way provided by Elizabeth Warren & Bernie Sanders. The choice is a stark one, and we better be very deliberate in understanding the repercussions of our vote. Should we go all out or play it safe? Here is what I believe.
To make a sensible vote, we must understand what ails the economy. More importantly, we must be brave, take our blinders off and realize that our economic system, capitalism, isn’t divine but here to serve us. We must assert our worth and revamp as necessary.
What’s the path to middle-class centric economy
Our economic change requires bold ideas. The biggest jump for voters in 2018 was Gen Zs and Millennials. Most importantly they still have much room to grow. They are looking for the policies of Warren and Sanders. Ironically, so are rank and file Democrats who are still stuck to the old guard.
I hope we let the Democratic Primary play out without being fearful of Progressives. No matter what we do, the Republican false-fact-creating-machine will brand us as Socialists. So we better just lean into middle-class centric policies.

Democrats must nominate a candidate with an ambitious vision to improve the lot of the working class. Failure to aggressively try to pass legislation for things like Medicare for all or substantially increasing the minimum wage will likely lead to another historic defeat in 2022.
There are enough voters at the edges, who do not love either the R’s or the D’s to sway any election and they will vote for the outs if the ins are not perceived to be working in their interests.
