Establishment Republican and Democrat team up to take down Medicare for All on news show.

September 8, 2019 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

You know the fix is in when the left rail and the right rail hit the airwaves with the same talking points attacking Medicare for All. It is so obvious that they are working for the same outcome.

Rahm Emanuel, a Democrat and former President Barack Obama Chief of staff showed quite a bit of solidarity with former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in an attempt to further scare Progressive Presidential candidates away from Medicare for All. Rahm continued using Right-Wing talking points similar to Democratic Presidential Candidate Senator Michael Bennet.

Rahm & Christie team up to take down Medicare for All

“Healthcare is a single issue that Democrats have a 35 point advantage on,” Rahm Emanuel said. “President Trump is trying to do everything he can to narrow it down. We’ve taken a position so far, the candidates have, through the process, a few have not, on basically Medicare for All which would eliminate 150 million people’s healthcare and we are going to provide healthcare for people who just come over the border. That is an untenable position for the general election.”

Emanuel went on to cynically say he had biked around Michigan and Wisconsin for 1000 miles and no one asked him to take their health insurance away. He called supporting Medicare for All reckless and claimed it is unnecessary to support it to win the primary.

Later, Chris Christie claims he went to a diner in Pennsylvania where a woman ran up to him and asked him to tell the president to tell the Democrats to leave her healthcare alone. He claimed if the president wins Pennsylvania he wins the election. A panelist interjected swiftly to ask if he had reminded the woman that it is the president who wants to repeal her healthcare insurance with no replacement. Christie said he did not but he did not even attempt to defend the president.

Rahm later reminded everyone about Trump’s broken promise of not cutting Medicare and Medicaid. He was implying that speaking about the president going back on his word should be the extent of the Democratic healthcare message.

Any Democrat using Right-Wing talking points like Emanuel and Bennet show exactly where their loyalties lie. Math is absolute. It is impossible for private health insurance to be more efficient than a single-payer plan. It is clear that Medicare for Al covers more people with better insurance at a lower cost. While there will be some initial disruption for the system, not the patient, it is important that we get to true universal coverage in the most efficient manner.

All Democrats should be explaining why their constituents will do better under Medicare for All given that everyone would be covered at a much lower cost. Democrats using Right-Wing talking points should stop being the slaves of the health industrial complex and protect their constituents. Stop treating Americans as math-less dummies.

Tell Rahm Emanuel instead of being a ward of the health industrial complex, try standing up for the average American citizen.
