I got an email from an activist friend that is yet another example not only of a lying president but another reason COVID-19 will be with us until we oust Trump and the GOP.
The government must absolutely facilitate every step necessary to stop a pandemic. Trump is right about one thing. It should be considered a war. No one asked who would pay before entering Iraq twice, Afghanistan, Panama, or any other place where we went into war. So what is the difference?

So much for “anyone can find a test” .. imagine being in West Texas and having to drive 500 miles
just to get in the door?

Trump said anyone who wanted a COVID-19 test could get one. Later it was corrected to anyone who needed one could get one. Even that is likely false. When one tries to find a test in Texas this is the first pop up they are faced with.
If they proceed to go further after the said scare, they are presented with another nagging pop up to let them know clearly that it could cost them money they don’t have.
Unemployment is through the roof. Millions have lost their health insurance as they’ve lost their jobs. In Texas, the state with the largest number of uninsured residents, this is a message that would have many simply close the link and live on likely infecting many others.
If we are to get out of this pandemic, the United States government must get responsible. It cannot encourage money making ventures but create a path that puts testing, discovery, and isolation at the forefront at no cost to any American. The rules of capitalism simply do not apply here and is responsible for the ineptitude as stakeholders first try to figure out how to make a buck before provide solutions out of this pandemic.
