Trump on the 157,000+ COVID-19 deaths: “It is what it is.”

August 4, 2020 By Egberto Willies

Donald Trump with one phrase illustrates that he is a man without a soul, a man without empathy. He simply does not care about anyone but himself.

Trump cares nothing about American deaths.

Watch the full episode here.

AXIOS’ Jonathan Swan interviewed Trump. In that one interview, he displayed exactly who he really is.

“I’ve gone to your rallies,” Swan said. “I’ve talked to your people. They love you. They listen to you. They listen to every word you say. They hang on every word. They don’t listen to me or the media or Fauci. They think we’re fake news. They want to get their advice from you and so when they hear you say everything’s under control. Don’t worry about wearing masks. I mean these are people, many of them are older people.”

“I think it’s under control,” Trump said. “I’ll tell you what.”

“How?” Swan interjected. “A thousand Americans are dying a day.”

“They are dying. That’s true,” Trump said. “And you have, it is what it is. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t doing everything we can. It’s under control as much as you can control it.”

The encapsulation of all that is Donald Trump.

The shame of it is, even at a social event, where he was a Guest of Honor, long before unreality TV was a thing, he behaved precisely the same way.
The Chamber of Commerce had a hell of a time finding attendees the following year, it was just that bad of an experience universally.
