Joe Scarborough claims that he does not understand GOP gaining seats. He makes the naive claim that Biden could run a bipartisan administration.
Joe Scarborough, You really don’t know why?
Joe starts with an inconvenient truth.
“Whether you like Susan Collins or not, the people of Maine elected her by nine percentage points,” Joe Scarborough said. “They voted for Joe Biden by nine percentage points. They gave Republicans; I don’t know how they gave Kevin McCarthy’s House more seats. But they did. They wanted to check Democrats, and they wanted Joe Biden in the White House to check Republicans.”
Come on, Joe. You must know that gerrymandering played a substantial effect. Also, it was a repudiation of Donald Trump. Joe then seems to be asking Democrats to repeat the mistakes they always make, trust in unfounded bipartisanship.
“So I have confidence that you know, there are still some people in the middle who will work with Joe Biden whether it’s Susan Collins or whether it’s Lisa Murkowski or whether it’s Mitt Romney on the Republican side,” Joe said. “Whether it’s Joe Manchin, Mark Kelly, Governor Hickenlooper on the Democratic side. I believe there are six seven eight people of goodwill that will work with Joe Biden and will actually forge a consensus so we can finally get things done in Washington.”
This is either naivete to the nth degree. Worse, Every person he claims would create some bipartisan policy is center or right of center, which in effect says, ‘We sacrifice progressive policies one more time.’
