I asked a fundamental question that many Progressives have. Senator Bernie Sanders provided the answer seemed echoed by Schumer.
I felt left out with everyone using the meme. Hell, I was a Bernie delegate in Philly in 2016. It is OK to smile or even laugh :). While funny, the content of the post and clip is real! This is the response Senator Sanders gave to Dana Bash on CNN.
Bernie Sanders answers an important question
My question is one that keeps many Progressives awake at night. Will Democrats allow the Republican stalling tactics to slow progress. The Republican leadership’s modus operandi is to slow things to a crawl to accomplish little or nothing.
The GOP does not believe in government. As such, they use government for one purpose. They support policies solely biased towards corporations and the wealthy class with the fallacy that the crumbs will trickle down. A failed government they crippled is par for the course.
Bernie’s response on whether Democrats will allow obstruction makes it clear that Democrats may have learned their lesson. Mitch McConnell capitulated after Chuck Schumer showed some fortitude and made it clear he must accept the offer or else.
“We’re glad Senator McConnell threw in the towel and gave up on his ridiculous demand,” said Justin Goodman, a spokesperson for Schumer. “We look forward to organizing the Senate under Democratic control and start getting big, bold things done for the American people.”

In short, Democrats will use reconciliation if they must. And the nuclear option is not off the table.
