Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez let excoriated the Republican politicians for their failure to take responsibility for the insurrection and more.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez justifiable rant
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has some serious concerns. In a previous interview, she said that as she was hiding from the unpatriotic seditious insurrectionists that invaded the Capitol, she did not feel safe around some of her colleagues.
“I think we also had very real security concerns… We still don’t yet feel safe around other members of Congress,” the Democrat told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday. Cuomo asked how many of her Democratic colleagues have similar concerns over personal safety, “I think a very considerable amount,” Ocasio-Cortez replied.
The host was surprised and asked the lawmaker again: “You really think that colleagues of yours in Congress may do you dirty?” … “Yes, well, one [member of Congress] just tried to bring a gun on the floor of the House today. I believe it was Representative Andy Harris of Maryland. He tried to bring a gun on to the House floor,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
AOC implies that the GOP leadership were enablers as they don’t even attempt to punish their white supremacists’ as they did with Steve King (R-IA). In other words, the GOP has adopted Trump’s unapologetic stance at all costs. AOC said that the GOP leadership, Kevin McCarthy answers to the GOP’s QAnon contingent.
“There are no consequences in the Republican Caucus for violence,” Alexandria said. “There are no consequences racism, no consequences for misogyny, no consequences for insurrection. And no consequences mean that they condone it. It means that silence is acceptance.”
AOC said they want all the bad behavior because they know that the base responds to more than anything else. That is the base they created over the years, and it won’t be easy to reprogram them.
