Freshman Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) attempted to talk patriotism & false equivalences on the insurrection. Watch Rep. Hakeem Jeffries epic takedown.
Hakeem Jeffries takes down a poser
It is always hard to know if Trump and the Republican insurrectionist enablers believe what they are saying. If they do, said the flaw could be fatal. But if they are just play-acting, which many believe they are doing, they are a clear and present danger to the republic.
Freshman Representative from Utah, Burgess Owen, gave a soliloquy for which I was embarrassed for him. It showed a level of ignorance and misplaced concern.
But we need not worry. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries was read to school. He was perturbed with the man’s nonsensical statement.
Congressman Jeffries sliced at Owens’ and every Republican’s attempt of trivializing the unpatriotic seditious insurrection with the following prescient statement.
“You asked the question,” Hakeem Jeffries said. “A violent insurrection resulted in the spilling of American blood. People died. The capital was desecrated. Urine and feces were left behind. The confederate flag was bandied about. That didn’t even happen in this Capitol during the Civil War. The Trump flag was placed instead of the American flag. That’s an insurrection. That’s sedition. That’s undemocratic. That’s problematic, and the American thing to do is to stand up to it.”
No more needs to be said.

Sedition is a wide thing, but well defined and you’ve repeatedly shown active sedition on the part of a number of GOP misleaders, who, if we are a people of law, should be arrested, charged and convicted of sedition.
Treason is narrowly and precisely defined and those proved to have actively planned and executed said plan to replace the US flag and attempt to remove or disrupt the federal government should be arrested, charged and convicted.
For the record, lest idiots continue disinformation about treason, treason isn’t exclusively punishable by death. That’s exclusively reserved only for our military, who have a mandatory death sentence for treason, sedition, insurrection or mutiny. Feel free to research those facts.
Understandable, given military skills training, experience and access to the weapons of war.
