Stephanopoulos asked the pertinent question.

“Do you condone the president’s actions?” Stephanopoulos asked. “His legal brief says that at all times Donald J. Trump fully and faithfully executed his duties as president of the United States. Do you agree with that?”

“The charge, George, in the impeachment, in the one article of impeachment, is that he singularly incited a riot to invade the Capitol,” Wicker said. “And I do not think that will be proved in the trial, no.”

George reminded Wicker that he voted to impeach President Clinton citing some sort of morality “clause.” He then played a moralizing clip by the senator.

“As you know, the president was impeached for lying about on affair,” Staphanopoulos said. “Why is lying about an affair more impeachable than inciting an insurrection?”

His answer simply revealed his hypocrisy.

“I am not conceding,” Wicker aid. “That President Trump incited insurrection.”

These Senators will continue the hypocrisy because so far there is no penalty. And Trump has set a new low bar. So it is hard to not look bad when he is one’s reference line.
