This is why Democrats must use GOP Governors abolishing unemployment as a betrayal to their citizens.

Governors in Red States are abolishing extended unemployment. It is imperative that Democrats use it against them framing it as slave labor enforcers.

Democrats: Expose Red State Governors

See full episodes here.

Red State governors are showing that they will put ideology over the well being of their citizens. Over the next few weeks they will cut extended unemployment benefits to their citizens.

GOP-led states are cutting $300 weekly federal unemployment benefits. Here are the 25 states making the cut this summer.

  • Some Republican governors have decided Americans make too much from expanded unemployment benefits.
  • After a surprisingly dismal jobs report, they’re moving to end federal jobless aid early.
  • That also includes eliminating programs benefiting gig workers, freelancers, and the long-term unemployed.

See the full list here.

Republican politicians have come to the conclusion that they will use the abolishment of needed income for many of their citizens is the whip they need to return to their slave-laboring jobs that pay less than a living wage. These governors are no more than enforcers for the businesses.

They are implicitly subsidizing the businesses by forcing them to work for less than what the business would otherwise have to pay. Unfortunately, many returning to work will likely now qualify for food stamps and other assistance, another indirect subsidy to the private sector.

Democrats need to make the case that if businesses want employees, they must pay them a living wage. The Right is already making Democrats look like the takers with our policies to give the poor and middle-class a break. In my humble opinion, we have to lean into what we have done. It made it a little bit easier for the common folk. Because people are not running back to slave-laboring jobs because of a bit more generous unemployment is a fiscally responsible thing to do personally. If the employers paid more, people would get up and go to work. Again, we have to keep the rich on the defensive for their wealth made on our backs, not the other way around. She frames things so well she needs to do this as well. It will make us know we really have an ally.
