White House reporters’ inept questions like these on COVID partly to blame for Americans’ ignorance

July 28, 2021 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

It is easy to blame Republican politicians, Right-Wingers, and Evangelicals for COVID vaccine resistance. It is time to assign blame to reporters who lack critical thinking skills.

Blame the reporters too

See full episodes here.

Listening to the White House press briefing is a must. Yes, I do it, so you do not have to go through the tedium. I try to cover the worthy. Recently the worthy have been noticing that the questions are unworthy.

Many national and international crises go completely uncovered in these briefings. Current briefings have not considered in any worthwhile detail student loan debt, rent & mortgage loan crisis, patent relief to cure COVID worldwide, among other significant issues.

But COVID? The reporters are happy to ask the same silly, uninformed questions that do more to mislead or sow doubt in the public than to aid in their understanding of the pandemic.

This clip shows two examples of repetitive questions that Jen Psaki attempted to answer in various forms. Why do the vaccinated need to wear masks now? Why did the president change his stance on mask-wearing?

Psaki does a good job of providing the answers to repetitive questions. But my God, if the reporters do not know the answers by now, their critical thinking skills are suspect. They should be writing their articles to explain to the American people what they need to know. After all, it is simple.

The vaccine is safe as millions worldwide and in  America have taken it without issues of consequence. If all Americans get vaccinated, the virus will burn out because it does not have a host to replicate in. The unvaccinated prevent that burnout and, in fact, causes replication and mutation. The mutation requires a behavior change and, as such, a change in guidelines. The vaccinated, while still protected, can spread the virus.  If we want stasis in guidelines, then everyone should get vaccinated. The unvaccinated ensure that the lives of all are uncomfortable.

That is the message. No more questions will change that reality.
