Chris Christie lays down the truth
I had to do a double-take as I listened to This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
“We’re this instant gratification society in every aspect of our society, including politics,” said Chris Christie. “It takes time for people to figure out “Where do we want our party to go. We got soundly defeated in 2020 at the presidential level. And now we have to decide, ‘All right, where do we go from here?’ And it’s going to take a little time.”
Imagine if mainstream Republicans like Christie had spoken up earlier. There is nothing they know now that they did not know then. We would have averted the January 6th insurrection.
Imagine if Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy had spoken up about masks and vaccinations as he did recently. The pandemic would likely have been averted just as Ebola was.
Too many mainstream Republicans remained silent or rode the crazy train. One should know that silence in these regards makes the silent complicit. Fareed Zakaria recently said it best.
