Democrats, strategists: Listen to this organizer about leaning into our causes & values

September 20, 2021 By Egberto Willies

Maria Teresa Kumar is more than an organizer, commentator, and pundit. She understands the heartbeat, values, and causes that drive America.

Maria Teresa Kumar, an organizer, gets it right

The Meet The Press Panel was hyperventilating on the lousy week that President Biden is going through. They expressed concern about the Democratic ‘feud’ over the $3.5 Trillion Human infrastructure bill and the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

Democrats could indeed self-destruct if they do not find a way to pass both bills. Assuming that Senators Manchin and Sinema realize that if they are responsible for killing the Biden agenda, they would be penalized by all sides. Election 2022 will be fought primarily on American existential issues. President of Voto Latino, MSNBC Contributor, and organizer Maria Teresa Kumar understands that. She had the most prescient statement on the panel.

“The Biden administration, I think, really needs to wrap themselves around, and the Democrats need to wrap themselves around and learn a little bit from the recall, the Newsom recall,” Maria Teresa Kumar said. “And that is, yes, right now, Biden may have had a tough week. But it is an asymmetrical conversation between him and what Trump represents. Talk about the abortion bill, talk about Larry Elder and his totality; it’s the antithesis of American values. And that’s where they need to lie about. Because we right now are talking about policy. But we are right now really living in a cultural war of what is the heart of America? And that is where the Biden administration really needs to lean into.”

Maria Teresa Kumar is absolutely correct.
