The cackling MSM has been blasting Biden for his comment that Putin must be out of power. Jeh Johnson had the nerve to object. And Biden reiterated his position.
Jeh Johnson bucks the mainstream media
The mainstream media has been hyperventilating over the last sentence, one that was not in the text of the speech, to slam President Biden. They are acting like cackling parrots with an inability to independent thought.
“A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire, will never erase the people’s love for liberty,” Biden said. “Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia, for free people refuse to live in a world of hopelessness and darkness. … For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.
Well, a panelist on Meet The Press with Chuck Todd buck all the parrots on the show and completely disagreed. Jeh Johnson showed guts with the following statement.
“I’m going to dissent,” Jeh Johnson said. “I’m not sure I would have walked it back. He’s a war criminal. He’s slaughtering innocent men, women, and children. He illegally invaded Ukraine, and he has got command and control of nuclear weapons. Such a person should not remain in power. So he’s lost his legitimacy. And at most, I would have modified the statement by saying it’s not a statement of our policy. It’s just simply a statement of fact.”
Johnson then said something more prescient. It is time that we stop calculating every word in situations like this and let clarity come to fruition.
“I’d like to see us at some point get to a place where we’re not constantly disclaiming the line over which we will not cross,” Jeh Johnson said. “And he said it. You know, presidents every once in a while do say things that ad-lib. Reagan was doing the Evil Empire right. And that guy that rattled their cages, bombing starts in 5 minutes after that. So it was a statement of fact. Virtually everyone agrees. Everyone in the Western world agrees.”
