TX Gov. Greg Abbott caused inflation & supply chain problems with border gimmick to hide failures.

April 17, 2022 By Egberto Willies

Texas Governor Greg Abbott screwed up this time. He caused ideology to hurt business. And that is a big no for his Republican benefactors.

Greg Abbott stepped in it this time!

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Most know that Texas Governor Greg Abbott has instituted a supply chain crushing truck inspection at the Texas border. It is a gimmick. Even his Republican Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller is pissed.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller called on Gov. Greg Abbott to halt his recent policy of additional commercial inspections at the border, calling the measure “political theater” and predicting it will leave grocery store shelves empty within weeks.

In an open letter addressed to the governor Tuesday, Miller said Abbott’s “economy killing action” is exacerbating already strained supply chains and causing massive produce shortages resulting in “untold losses” for Texas businesses.

“Your inspection protocol is not stopping illegal immigration,” Miller said in his letter. “It is stopping food from getting to grocery store shelves and in many cases causing food to rot in trucks — many of which are owned by Texas and other American companies. … The people of Texas deserve better!”

So why is Abbott doing this? Texas’ excuse for a governor said that inspections are needed to combat drug smuggling and human trafficking. But, from the Biden administration to Mexico say, it’s an unnecessary public relations stunt. Protests have already begun for this PR stunt. Abbott forgot that the plutocracy would have his back as long as he did not mess with their bottom line.

The sad reality is that Governor Abbott should be more concerned about real issues affecting Texas. What is he doing to mitigate the severe Texas drought exacerbated by climate change? Abbott is murdering Texans with his and the Texas Republican politicians’ refusal to accept the Medicaid Expansion to the Affordable Care Act. He is infringing on women’s control of their own bodies with Texas Republicans’ draconian abortion laws. The governor has unleashed guns on Texas where one does not even need a permit to have one as ut causes gun murders to explode. And there are so many more other vital issues he leaves undone as he continues with gimmicks and stunts.

I find it a dereliction of duty of the Democratic Party and the Texas Democratic Party. In particular, Abbott is not blasted 24/7 in every media with graphic language that shows he is a clear and present danger to Texans and Americans. And this does not only apply to Abbott but to virtually every Republican politician who coddled Trump.
