Rep. Katie Porter gave it to the CEO as she slammed Big Pharma as an unregulated fraud.

April 29, 2022 By Egberto Willies

Don’t try to bloviate with Rep. Katie Porter. This CEO paid the price as she exposed him and his industry as a fraud.

Katie Porter strikes again

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Rep. Katie Porter grilled McKinsey & Company Managing Partner Bob Sternfels for his deception in the pharmaceutical industry. McKinsey & Company is a management consulting firm. One can assume whose interest they have at hand.

McKinsey & Company consulted with the FDA while they consulted with Purdue, the pharmaceutical company poisoning many in America with their opioid drugs.

“So let me ask you, did you disclose to the FDA your McKinsey’s work at the same time?” the congresswoman asked Sternfels. “Did you disclose to the FDA that McKinsey was working at the same time it was working for the FDA, that it was working for Purdue? Did you disclose that to the FDA?”

The executive refused to answer with a simple answer. The company never disclosed to the government that they had a conflict of interest. They were working for those who are to protect the public, the FDA, and those the public needed protection from, drug-pushing Perdue.

Porter could not take it any longer and pointed out the company’s ethical and financial thuggery.

“Mr. Sternfel, that is you putting yourself as the czar of conflicts,” Rep. Katie Porter said. “Look, your scheme worked really well for McKinsey. McKinsey got contracts, Purdue got rich, and America got addicted. Since 2008 McKinsey earned $140 million in contracts from the FDA. And you did not ever disclose your work for Purdue. You did not disclose your conflicts of interest.”

Imagine if all of our representatives handled those who run these corporations that hurt many this way. Things would change. We need to elect progressives that are not afraid to be who they are.
