Beto O’Rourke confronts Texas Governor Greg Abbott at his bloviating press conference.

Beto O’Rourke interrupted Greg Abbott’s press conference about the Uvalde massacre. One wonders why Texas politicians have not vociferously tagged Republicans on their murderous gun policies and laws. Beto O’Rourke finally did it where it got maximal coverage.

Beto O’Rouke calls out Greg Abbott

“Did that just really happen?” asked my daughter as a shouting Uvalde Mayor shouted down Beto O’Rourke. “I was studying and had the T.V. in the background, which was loud.”

I had just gotten through recording another press conference segment, so I was behind. I hurried up and moved forward in the feed. By then, O’Rourke was outside the press conference making some prescient statements that all Democrats in Texas and all over the Red States should be rolling off their tongues.

Beto O’Rourke pointed at the governor and told him he was doing nothing to address gun violence in the state.

“The time to stop the next shooting is right now, and you are doing nothing. You’re bringing up nothing,” O’Rourke shouted at the governor. “You said this was unpredictable. This is totally predictable when you choose not to do anything. I’m standing for the kids in this state to stop this from happening again. This is on you until you choose to do something about it.:

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick shouted back that O’Rourke was out of line and that he was an embarrassment. The Mayor of Uvalde, Don McLaughlin, called O’Rourke, the Democratic candidate running to unseat the incompetent, derelict, and corrupt governor, Greg Abbott, a son of a bitch.

But that was not the end. Beto O’Rourke gave his press conference with solutions outside the bloviating clown show that was Abbot’s presser.

“Do you want a solution? O’Rourke asked. “Stop selling AR15s in the street. You want a solution? We have universal background checks. We don’t have them. You want a solution? Red flag laws or extreme risk protection orders, which stop a shooting before it happens. You want a solution? Safe storage laws. Those are four solutions that have been brought up by the people of Texas.”

O’Rourke then tagged the governor for his incompetence and control by the NRA.

“Each one of those has broad bipartisan support right now,” Beto O’Rourke said. “We can get that done. If we had a governor who cared more about the people of Texas than he does his own political career or his fealty to the NRA, and if you need any proof of that, check the schedule for the NRA’s convention this Friday right here in the state of Texas.”

The NRA owns Republicans. They instead take on the American people who what reasonable gun regulations instead of losing NRA support.
