Mika Brzezinski captured the sentiment of most Americans perfectly as she called out the callousness of the Cornyn and Republicans.

As I listened to Senator John Cornyn callously say, “No, we are done!’ about any more gun control laws. He then went on to blast President Biden for attempting to move the ball to protect citizens from weapons of war.
“It seems to me that yesterday the President talked about everything that they wanted that they didn’t get in the bill,” Cornyn said. “But the sort of things he was calling for don’t have support in the Senate or the Congress on a bipartisan basis. In other words, they can’t get done.”
Is this man serious? He is saying it does not matter how many people AR-15 weapons-of-war carrying murdering men kill people. The reality is that today bipartisanship means the lowest common denominator. In other words, since Republicans always want to do the least, if one works for today’s bipartisanship, they get the least. It’s time to serve Americans and not false bipartisanship.
Mika Brzezinski‘s response was probative.
“Who are you, people? You don’t want a ban on assault weapons,” Brzezinski said. “You wonder why the police are afraid to go into a school with an active shooter who has weapons of war. There’s a reason they hesitated. It may not have been right, but my God, police are now outgunned. So you don’t want a ban on assault weapons? You don’t want more restrictions on these weapons of war.”
Mika then expanded her critique to show the pattern of Republican degeneracy.
“You want women who are raped, young girls who are raped, to be forced to have birth,” Mika said. “I mean, this is what the Republican Party is at this point. And forget the fact that you will not stand up about what happened on January 6th. This is impossible, Al. This is a party that is taking on taking on cases that don’t stand up to where we are as a country.”
Mika then admonished Senator John Cornyn.
“It’s so hard to hear and hear these mass shootings,” Mika said. “Senator Cornyn, they’re coming to a state or a city near you. You know it, it’s just like Trump. You know how it ends. And yet you still continue.”
One hopes more in the media start doing what Mika did. Just imagine if they did this pre-Trump’s MAGA era.
