An incredulous Stephanie Ruhle did not allow lying Trump and Sen. Marsha Blackburn, who claimed Trump led a thriving economy.
Stephanie Ruhle slaps down the GOP economy lie.
Stephanie Ruhle immediately checked a speech that twice impeached former president Donald Trump gave. He claimed that he left a strong economy. But she did more than that. She also challenged Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn, who lied in a speech, claiming that Donald Trump had an excellent economy and had plans for the supply chain screwups by private sector corporations.
Stephanie Ruhle would have none of it. She challenged every aspect of Trump’s supposedly good economy. In reality, it was one of the worst in history.
“Hold your horses under President Trump. [Trump’s]Economic success is pretty much a given?” Stephanie Ruhle said incredulously. “For facts’ sake, let’s take a look back at the Trump economy. There’s this Washington Post analysis from January eight, 2021. Quote — Trump will have the worst jobs record in modern U.S. history. —
Ruhle had more to say. Some may want to attribute failure to the pandemic or his response to the said pandemic. The thing is, Trump was already on the path to failure.
“It’s not just the pandemic,” Stephanie Ruhle said. “Trump is the only modern president to leave office with fewer jobs than when he took office, 3 million fewer jobs, to be exact. Of course, the pandemic was the root cause for so many jobs lost across the country in the late part of his administration. But this chart right here shows that even before the pandemic, job growth under Trump was at a lower pace than most other presidents. And as The Washington Post puts it, Quote — President Trump took office at the crest of the longest economic expansion in U.S. history. He leaves presiding over the worst labor market in modern U.S. history as an already sputtering economic recovery has turned negative. — And that’s the truth.”
One must challenge Trump, MAGA, the Right, and the GOP whenever they lie about Trump’s or any other Republican president’s economy. It is a fact the economy in the aggregate always does better under Democratic presidents than Republican presidents.
