My listener’s ‘Defund Capitalism’ statement elicited this response. What are your thoughts?

August 10, 2022 By Egberto Willies

My listener had a profound statement, ‘Defund Capitalism,’ that required a necessary response before our Right Wing listeners’ heads exploded.

Defund Capitalism? Thoughts?

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

I got the following comment from one of my listeners in real-time during our live broadcast.

“Egberto, pardon, mind reading this one out: Those on the actual left would defund capitalism, replace it with a better system that prioritizes the needs of the people and deprioritizes corporate greed … whether with democratic socialism or something else, a conversation for a different time … you ever hear Biden talk about replacing capitalism? No, that’s because he’s not a leftist … now watch the conservatives lose their minds.”

I tell my listeners almost daily that Politics Done Right belongs to them. When planning the program, I create enough flexibility to engage the audience. The listener changed the trajectory of the show. I used his statement as a catalyst to a necessary rant everyone needed to hear.

I pointed out that an economic system is not divine but manmade. As such, we can change it. When designing an economic system to serve all of us, we must first determine our values, expectations, and requirements. Only then do we design a business model that fulfills those.

Please watch the entire video. I would love to read your comments.

SET YOUR REMINDER: Be a part of the civil debate on these and many issues. Watch and participate on Politics Done Right daily at 3:00 PM Central/4:00 PM Eastern at http://politicsdoneright.tv.
