Ali Velshi is a journalistic gem in a sea bloviators as he educates an ill-informed American population about the monarchy from the correct context.

Ali Velshi gives context.

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

I cannot express how impressed I have been with Ali Velshi’s coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s death and the glorification of both her and the monarchy. He added a necessary perspective at a time when the media and monarchial history rewriters abound. His pieces have been like a clinic, and I have condensed his latest above. The following are condensed versions of his excellent clips that give the necessary context.

  1. Ali Velshi schools those glorifying the queen & monarchy on the stench of unatoned colonialism.
  2. FINALLY! Ali Velshi destroys a historian complaining when told the truth about Britain’s evil past.

In the condensed segment above, Ali Velshi showed that there was not much change in the supremacy felt by the British monarchy. He showed some of the mechanics in the following photo.

The photo shows prince William and Kate saluting a Jamaican honor guard in an open virtually juxtaposed to one from then princess, now Queen Elizabeth II. Anyone with a modicum of pride who sees this cannot help but get repulsed from a monarchy that pilfered the land and then remains, if even ceremonial, head of state and often printed on currencies.

Velshi explained the two levels of countries in the British Commonwealth, which comprises 56 nations. The 56 countries accept the British King or Queen as head of the Commonwealth. Of those, fifteen of them are Commonwealth Realms. The British King or Queen is the head-of-state in those countries. Jamaica, Canada, and Australia are a few of those countries. Several of them have stated they intend to have plebiscites to break the bond.

As Ali Velshi explained the Commonwealth, he was clear that the reign of the British Empire was brutal. It was extractive in nature as it pilfered the human and natural resources of all the lands it colonized. It is that stolen wealth that the monarchy was and is living on for centuries.

Every descendant of the colonized must be upset at the pomp and circumstance and the wall-to-wall coverage of the death, mourning, and burial of Queen Elizabeth II. They praise her for her poise and semblance of care. But doesn’t care come with actions? Wouldn’t a benevolent monarch fess up to their past sins, atone, and attempt reparations? After all, they have enriched themselves from the work and worth of the colonized as they left poverty and pain.
